As Cody Lee struts his way towards the “new normal” he reflects on the past and speculates about exactly what the future holds but does so in a wonderfully vague and non-committal sort of way. This is after all an anthem, a funky groover which is more about slogans and sing-alongs than providing any real answers. Fun not fact. But with all the music swirling around trying to postulate politically and answer earnestly at the moment, Cody Lee’s approach makes a refreshing change.

Essentially he looks you in the eye, gives you a sly wink and says, “hey, I don’t have any solutions, but I do have a great tune.” All he offers is a swaggersome sonic beast, strutting grooves and an infectious tune, gently anthemic, fun and perfect for dancing your cares away.

Perhaps there is no such thing as a new normal. The only consistent thing in the world is change. Evolution is the best type of revolution. It’s better to travel well, than to arrive…. I’m basically just writing slogans now. I have no answers, nor does Cody Lee. Time to just shut up and dance I guess, and this is the song to do it to.

“It is, what it is!” Exactly!
