This is the third time I have put pen to paper on behalf of Lilli Joon’s music. It’s the third time that I have fallen for her sonic charm. When talking about previous tracks, Tiny Portals and Dwelling, I may have mentioned that there is something of the 60’s singer-songwriter sound to her creations, but When You Know is much more about where the format and genre is going rather than where it has been.

This latest single is built on chiming sonic shards and shimmering soundscapes as much as it is by the guitar itself, which here seems to run through the centre of the song as much a structure for the other sounds to hang on as a rhythmic device in its own right.

Whatever is going on here, however, these gorgeous tones and textures are built up, the result is, as always, beautiful and beguiling in the extreme.
