I say this often: genres need to move with the times. I shouldn’t have to, but so many seem happy to remain stuck in the past, which is what makes this quartet of songs from Emma Tea such a great prospect.
Depending on how you look at this EP, it is folk music exploring an indie, sonic dalliance or pop music created from numerous sonic tones and textures or the singer-songwriter genre embracing the potential of digital technology or just a new wave of folktronica.
Whatever it is, I love it, and you will, too.
