Well, it’s nice to see that old-school classic rock is still alive and kicking—and kicking quite hard if this debut single from Roundabouts is anything to go by. Just because times move on and new musical forms come into view doesn’t mean you must abandon what has gone before.
Roundabouts understand this. Rock and roll, for want of a better term, found its perfect form a long time ago, and all the intelligent artist has to do is mildly tinker with the engine room and polish the sound for a new age, plant one biker booted foot on the monitor and set the controls for oblivion. Apart from that, the sound pretty much sells itself.
Outta Your Mind? Sold. In fact, I’ll take a dozen.
