Taking a contemporary singer-songwriter sound, pushing it through ambient soundscapes, washing it out until it has a hazy spaciousness, adding shimmering lush vibes and chiming, and indeed charming sonics, Jonny Morgan has created an album that is worthy of the word gorgeous.
Good Luck With the Music wanders between the almost empty spaces of Turbulence and the robust, soul-infused, swaggering folk romp of Straight and Narrow, and that’s just the first two songs. Imagine what other joys await beyond that. I could tell you, but I’d have to…well, you know.
