Drunk Text – Jace Heyman (reviewed by Dave Franklin)

We’ve all been there. You break up with the significant other in dramatic fashion. You head out to the into the night with that “I’m better off single anyway” refrain floating around your brain. The world is your oyster, you can do what you want, you are young, free and …stupid! You stagger through the night feeling like a superhero, acting more like a clown, mind wandering between an attitude of “I’ll show her I’m okay on my own” and “Why won’t she answer my text?” And that, in a nutshell is what Jace Heyman has poured into his latest release.

Island life vibes infused into sultry R&B grooves and the documenting of perhaps the most relatable aspect of young, contemporary life. That’s the problem with trying to have it all…you can’t. They say if you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you are with but we all know that is the road to disaster. You know you should be heading home, waiting for that call, trying to make amends but the music, the drink and the distractions are leading you in the other direction and this cool and infectious slice of pop sums it all up rather neatly.
