While I’ve always thought that James Blake has a Dylan-esque quality to him, or more appropriately, his voice is one that people either love or hate with little middle ground; like Dylan, he writes great songs. And again, like Dylan, the answer is obvious for the discerning music fan: seek out covers of his music and enjoy those.

Sian Able’s cover of Say What You Will perfectly proves my point. She takes his song and smoothes the edges with neo-soul vibes, almost classical grace, understated back beats, and spacious basslines. And man, that voice…controlled and cool yet warm and welcoming, soulful and seductive, I could go on but you don’t have to take my word for it…hit play!
