I’ve always admired Third Development’s ability to take beat-driven electronic music into some exquisite and interesting realms, places far removed from those frequented by most of their peers. Tracks such as Auras and Echoes marked the band out as something special, blending the sonic language of the clubland scene with the higher consciousness of more spiritual matters. As the title might suggest, Our Parallel Worlds hits the same spot—a spot where sass and sophistication, deep thought, and easy groove meet.

Woven through this cosmic rug is a pattern made of digital warp and infectious weft and a design built from operatic vocals, ragga vibes, ambient washes, and spoken word asides.

It is music where worlds meet, not only the Orient and the Occident but also the physical and the other, the mortal realm and the spiritual dimension, not to mention digital deliciousness and ornate organic vocals.

Music that can make you dance and think at the same time. That’s a rare skill to be able to lay on the audience.
