As far as I’m concerned, anything with a cover that looks like an old copy of Weird Tales is a good start. Get inside, and the music matches that image. Four instrumental tracks that use proggy structures (or sometimes, lack of structure) through which is blended psychedelic soundscaping and ornate guitar work, ornate but never sounding forced or technical, always erring more to the relatively free-flowing and mellifluous side of things.
It is a great set of songs, a great sound, and, as my first job of the day, a fantastic first record to have under the pen. I’m crossing my fingers that the rest of the day flows this beautifully.
