In my last brief mention in despatches, I said it felt like the start of a good day musically speaking. And so it is. Hot on the heels, well, more drifting gracefully behind it, of a nice slice of instrumental psychedelia comes Last Weekend from Katie Keddie, and it is a gorgeous piece of music.

Understated and spacious, chiming and charming, this folk piece is given a slight country lilt via a banjo, pedalling along as only banjos can. Add to all that lovelyness, Keddie’s hushed and heavenly voice, and you have something quite extraordinary indeed.
