The fact that Sick & Tired sounds like a half-forgotten classic from way back when, as if it will get to the chorus and listeners will collectively cry, ” Ahh, it’s that song,” tells us everything about Emma Miller’s ability to write great songs.

But the modern twist on her ability to write songs on par with the most powerful and poignant music of the past is that below those seemingly familiar sonics is a two-fingered gesture to inner demons and outer social pressure of the modern world.

And if today, we are saying that such a song sounds like a classic from times past, who is to say that in the future, people won’t be looking back at Sick & Tired and viewing it in the same way as, say, You’re So Vain or Wind Beneath Your Wings?

Deep. Yes. Meaningful? Absolutely. Future classic? I think so.
