If Invisible Wars was the sound of Luna Keller moving folk music forward into a more of-the-here-and-now sound,  Patterns feels more about moving the genre in broader ways, less about modernity, more about a reminder that almost all music is, essentially, folk music. (Didn’t Louis Armstrong himself once observe that “all music is folk music; I ain’t never heard no horse sing a song.” Well Quite.)

Patterns is a lilting piece of almost theatrical-sounding folk music, a gypsy waltz leading a dance through the frustrations that arise in all of us when we become aware of our self-destructive patterns but seem helpless to change them: a gorgeous song and a poignant message.
