Hypnotize You runs on a melodic rock sound that you might associate more with an earlier time than perhaps being in keeping with the musical fads and fashion of today’s heavier music scene. The album it is taken from was supposed to see the light of day in 1997, but for reasons we shall not go into, it has only recently been released when the band Voyager (now with an additional X) reconvened after a 22-year hiatus.
That said, even in 1997, you would have said its sound leans heavily into the musical flavours of the previous decade. But the cool thing about this sonic delay is that music, being the cyclical beast that is, has placed the band ahead of a next ,musical wave rather than behind the last one. Timing is everything!
