If you are going to write something in the indie-pop oeuvre, as this clearly is, then you should do so with a bit of energy to drive it along, a bit of jaunt and jive, something that gets the motor running. We’ve had too many would-be indie wannabes with their complicated hair and their misunderstood lyricism laying their earnest and uninteresting, mid-paced power anthems on us of late, far too many.
So why not avoid more of the pomposity and pretension and just cut to the chase and give us something that we can dance to? It’s what B. Snipes is doing here, and listen to how much fun it is! Point proven. End of discussion.
