Sonically, Medivh builds the song from electronic sheens and abrasive guitars; a meeting of digital deliciousness and analogue energy. They then use these to create an array of musical moods, moving from the opening impact to almost folk-rock undertones to rising alt-rock tensions before finally arriving at the realm of classic rock crescendoes.
If you are a rock fan and don’t find lots to love in Down In Flames, you are either too set in your ways or entirely out of touch with where rock music is today. Probably both.
