At that hallowed place where more heavy indie swagger and energetic rock urges are gently subsumed by more pop melodics, you find Girl Shaped Gun. And Denim Jacket, their new single, really speaks volumes as to why you need to check them out.

It may be the deft song crafting. It might be their playful use of dynamics; it could be their ability to ebb and flow between melody and muscle, pop and a hard place. And it is undoubtedly their astute use of boy/girl vocals. In fact, it is all these things and much more besides. All good music is more than the sum of its parts. This is one of those times.
