The singer-songwriter tradition has been one that has been with us for many decades now. And like any genre, it is one that needs to move with the times. What is so great about Deep End, the new one from Alesandra Pollack, is that it does just that.
It ebbs and flows between lulling lows, where the singer-songwriter template can be most easily seen, and higher sonic altitudes built of pop-rock soundscapes, where scintillating, dance-infused grooves and indie sonic identities also colour the music.
Deep End is the sound of music moving forward and doing so with grace and style, intelligence and confidence.
