Although the video might be full of humorous hyperbole, it addresses a very poignant subject. When we look back on our lives, we tend to see ourselves in an elevated state, but the reality is, for most of us at least, rather than being experts, we are more likely to spend our lives being a Jack of All Trades, muddling through, just keeping our heads above water, making ends meet.
However, I believe that is a healthier state of play. Doesn’t such a position make us more broad-minded, more practical, more interesting, more useful… more worldly even? Well, that is the question posed (I think)…discuss.
And whilst you are thinking about that, you get to listen to some good, honest, unfussy, accessible rock and roll. An easy, infectious guitar riff saws through the heart of the song, further adorned by chiming piano, and an engine room of bass and beat that gets the job done. Familiar? Yes, but fresh and fun too.
Something to think about, something to boogie to, what more can you ask of a song?
