Glad In It – Chris Bender (reviewed by Dave Franklin)

Music has become such a ubiquitous and money driven product these days that we often forget that, if you go back far enough, all music has a shared origin in the devotional music of the middle ages. Many artists wander their own musical path to different ends but Chris Bender is still focused and following its original purpose and openly and unabashedly celebrating his faith.

Glad In It is a neat blend of soul and rock music, a sort of a high-octane gospel music, and the perfect conduit through which his joy and celebration flows to the outside world. And, whatever your view on such higher mysteries, it is hard not to get caught up in the jubilation and euphoria which the track seems to ooze. Infectious doesn’t seem such powerful enough a word, but it will have to do for now.

A case of come for the music and stay for the message.
