A cynical mind might accuse The Heard Eye as being idealists, but their message of freedom and love is exactly what the world needs right now. Dontcha think? More and more music makers are using their craft to raise awareness of specific plights and ongoing tragedies, and all The Heard Eye are doing is delivering a more holistic message. And why not?

Running on the same sort of funky groove that all those great conscious soul records from the 70’s did, or the Red Hot Chili Peppers would if they stopped trying too hard to look…well, too hard, this is both a tipping of the hat to some cool sounds from the past and a continuation of a much-needed message into modern times.

Brass salvos strut and soar, guitars lick and lilt, basses move like a boss, and the message is clear. Where has the love gone? Why aren’t people free to be themselves? Why are greed and control the order of the day?

Okay, it might seem simple and idealistic, but that’s the whole point: it’s a simple idea…love each other, free each other. As a wise man once said, “What’s so wrong about peace, love, and understanding?” What indeed?
