If you want a slice of Day-Glo, feelgood, infectious pop, Regal The Rare is your man. And Blue Goo is your song. And don’t let the funny title fool you; this is anything but a throwaway pop song, rather one that takes all the traits and traditions of the pop world, polishes them, brings them bang up to date and then infuses them with dance floor grooves and rock energy to make something that stands proud above the usual chart-bound fare.
And what you get is the best of both worlds. It is a shiny and energetic song, one that will appeal to the dancefloor divas and young pop pickers alike, but thanks to the other, more far flung musical influences and clever sonic splicing that the song is constructed from, it will also appeal to those more broad-minded rockers and indie kids who like to hit the clubs and let off steam from time to time.
In fact, I can’t think of anyone who won’t like this. Hang on….no, no one at all.
