The post-punk/indie/goth act A Projection formed in 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden, and have released two albums to date – ‘Exit’ (2015) and ‘Framework’ (2017). The band’s brand new album, ‘Section’, arrives following a period of reinvention after the departure of their original singer, with former bassist Rikard Tengvall eventually proving to be a more than adequate replacement behind the mic.
The songwriting sessions for ‘Section’ also came at a time when the group was constantly challenged by not only further line-up changes, but some health issues. Ultimately, however, they have emerged from this period triumphant and stronger, both musically and personally.
Gradually creating their own identity, A Projection have forged a sound that veers between New Wave Post-Punk, Goth and Indie Rock. Their new songs are bursting with power and embellished with plenty of punk attitude – fast and rough as well as dark and emotional.
Having partnered with the US based Metropolis Records for the worldwide release of ‘Section’, they have just issued the song ’Lucy Shrine’ as a new single taken from the record. It contains all the attributes that can be heard throughout the album’s eleven songs; a rhythmic foundation of precise drums and a resonant bassline, shimmering guitars and a catchy hook, all topped off with vocals that convey depth and emotion.
‘Section’ shows that A Projection have overcome their crisis and delivered a strong and varied new album.
