Music is a universal language that has the power to connect people from every part of the world, it creates a common ground for people who may not share the same language, beliefs, culture, or religion. So, it’s always refreshing to see artists use their platforms and voices to spread love, positivity, and acceptance.

Which is what makes King Iso stand out from the crowd. Way You Are bravely and honestly addresses not only the OCD that affects his own life but his son’s struggle with Autism. Finally, someone is discussing something of fundamental importance and doing so from a position of parental love.

If the song is about being an outsider, it is about being there because of issues of neurodivergence, and the lyrics address how to ensure that his son isn’t treated any different because of it and how he can have a normal, inclusive and happy life. Over the usual infectious beats and via some intelligent and poised lyrics, King Iso has something powerful and poignant to say.

When was the last time such a song said anything this timely and universally relevant, yet this honest and personal…this important? Not for a long time, I’d guess.
