I don’t mean any disservice when I say that the core musical platform that Vittoria and the Bridges creates here, at least in the peaceful and understated opening bars, before everything starts to build, reminds me a bit of Dire Straits…playing in an understated and acoustic mode, and if they came from the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean rather than the dirty back streets of London. There is something in the hushed vocals, the space and groove, perhaps even the street-wise lyrics.

But, it is only a short time before Vittorio and the gang put their own stamp on the sound, mainly through the inclusion of an almost operatic harmony vocal that screams Latin latitudes and sunshine sonics.

It’s a great song, a mix of Springsteen-esque street narratives and gentle, lilting pop-rock, but the vocal treatment, in particular, raises Volero’ from the ranks of being a good song into something extraordinary.
