Some might scoff at the idea of a rap video in the third decade of the 21st century still being just a series of images of strippers and fancy liqueur and loose money and flash cars, not to mention the lyrics, which leave no doubt as to what is on the mind of Invinceable and his friends. But that would be to miss the point. Rap music has always been aspirational, always about looking for a better life, always a means of escape from the hustle and hassle of the streets.

Rain Dance is just that, a rap fantasy, albeit based on the artist’s experience of managing just such an establishment as depicted in the lyrics and video, but a fantasy nonetheless.

And what you get is a modern slice of rap, a blend of pulsing yet spacious beats, shifting electronica, skittering digital percussion and salvos of lyrical flows that leave nothing to the imagination. If you like your music hard-hitting, adult orientated and reflecting the darker fringes of the rap scene, then this is for you.
