Jason Bradley knows all about the art of making music on the fringes of numerous music genres, mixing, merging and melding all manner of fantastic sonic elements garnered from different sound, styles and scenes and, in doing so, writing songs with mass appeal.

Take Our Troubled Hearts, for example. It’s a song running on recognisable, classic rock lines but carrying no small amount of grunge-laden sonic weight, some alt-rock stadium vibes, a bit of a country lilt, or at least an Americana twang, and even some pop-infused accessibility. That’s a lot of boxes to tick, but tick them he does.

But then Bradley is no newcomer, having rocked up in the Twin Cities as bass player in Carpetbomb and then proceeding to play with the great and good of the scene in bands such as Fastest Turbo Fire Engine and Trout. Now he gives us a solo album, Our Troubled Hearts, and if the titular single is anything to go on, you will want to grab yourself a copy as soon as is humanly possible.
