Well, that blows the cobwebs away, as they say. The first piece of music to fall under my pen early on an unusually cold Friday morning, and it did what even the best coffee often fails to do in such a time of day – it put a smile on my face immediately. It’s not only a song with a buoyant and upbeat vibe but a great sentiment, too.
Running on a high-octane pop energy and an infectious dance groove, it is one of those songs that squares up to you, look you in the eye, and challenges you not to dance. (Ever this early in the day.)
While Travis Reece certainly has in mind the idea of a higher power looking out for us, the song is equally suitable as a celebration of anyone we fully trust: friends, family, or significant other.
Optimism, that’s the word, that’s what powers this song, and a sense of security and elation are also woven into its heart. And, if you want to just to take it as a great way to start the day, a sort of morning mantra that reminds you that you can do anything, well, it’s perfect for that too.
