I love how Brett Schieber uses the changing mood of the song to reflect the message of a new life that it carries. The verses are calm and composed, describing things in a balanced and relaxed way. They are smooth and seductive, lulling the listener into a false sense of security, then Blam! The Blam in question, the sonic explosion, the musical sucker-punch, is the chorus that kicks in with no small sense of euphoria and fun, sonically ushering in the idea of starting a new life with all the requisite fun and frenzy.

As always, it is his ability to take the best aspects of established genres – rock music’s energy, soul’s sophistication and pop’s sheer infectiousness – that makes the song jump out at you. His building blocks might be instantly recognisable, but the sonic architecture creates with those elements is like little that you have heard before.

New beginnings never sounded so enticing!
