If I found the previous single, Been Invited, an odd and beguiling sonic experience, Your Hollywood sees Lover in the same strange territory. There’s is a place where dance music gets intimate with glam rock, where analogue and digital worlds co-exist, where pop infectiousness and rock and roll weight aren’t mutually exclusive and where anything can happen.

And it does. The song ebbs and flows between sounds, styles, genres and even musical worlds. It is both brash and sophisticated, fractured and focused, sensitive and sassy, the sound of familiar musical building blocks being torn out of the past and rearranged to make music for the future, or at least one possible version of the future. It’s a world of opposites and that is so attractive.
