Well, this is cool, but what is it? It has a great pop groove, a dark, revels in an almost gothic shade, some beguiling gypsy jazz violin swirls, folky, acoustic undercurrents, and an infectious, almost dance vibe. Waiting For The Laughter is a lot of things, changing chameleon-like as it moves through its five-and-a-half-minute cycle.
I can tell you what it is not. It is not conformist. It is not unoriginal. It is not the same-old, same-old. And it is probably not like anything you have heard before.
So what is it? Brilliant. And that’s all you need to know.
