There must be something going on in that part of the country, as the last few bands I have come across that have really stood out have been from south-east coastal towns. But then, as I remember from my formative years going to gigs in Brighton, there was always a lot happening along that stretch of The Saxon Shore.

Figurehead makes instrumental music that blends proggy intricacy with raw alt-rock deliveries, and The Comet is their latest sonic triptych. The music is intricate yet melodic, big and clever. And if you need a reference point, just imagine a more contemporary take on early Rush, only without the lyrical component. And any band you can say that about is on to something good. No, on to something great.
