While there are a lot of 90’s tones shimmering away in Rendered’s latest single, Squash Market, a touch of US college rock grind and no small amount of Brit-pop accessibility, there is also something older, darker and dirtier lurking behind them, bluesy and blasted, almost Doorsian.

I also hear the echoes of Primal Screams early, pre-ecstasy, garage rock days grooving through the air, which I like. Something I like a lot! It’s like a vision of the nineties that never was, but which should have been. Ahh well, at least they are hear now to improve the musical landscape.
