Dakota Blue feels like the epitome of the modern indie artist, and Search Engine, his latest album, is a wonderfully adventurous, totally of-the-moment slice of forward-thinking music. The building blocks might sound familiar, but the sonic architecture he builds with them is new.

A blend of experimental swathes of guitar, and lush synths ebb and flow to create dream state shoegaze and noir-tinged new wave, evocative alt-pop, ambient drifts, and no small amount of gothic shade.

If you want to know what the future holds for underground and adventurous music, this is an excellent place to start.

Hang on, if I type the words Search Engine into a Search Engine, will my computer blow up?
