If Concrete Streets, my first taste of Madame Psychosis, seemed to come from a place where the infectiousness of pop was being subsumed into the energy of rock, it is more to the latter genre that this latest single leans.
It does still manage to balance these two opposing musical forces; it is just that if this were a boxing match when the distance, you’d have to award it on points to the rock fraternity.
That said, amongst the snarling guitars and the soaring vocals, there is still an accessibility and infectiousness to be found that is often sorely lacking in rock music today.
