Jack Windsor’s debut album, My Old Ways, from which this track is taken, promises everything from indie rock to train-thumping Western Americana, rum-soaked beach rock to 80’s new wave, and from rock and roll to experimental spoken word. Here, though, he opts for something akin to dream state-folk music.
Perfect Day reflects the sunny vibes and relaxing sentiments that the title suggests. Imagine if Dylan had calmed down a lot and joined a chilled-out hippy outfit playing on the beach for beer money. This is what that might have sounded like.
