There has long been a scene of singer-songwriters fuelled with the echo of a punk ethic and energy. Zack Robertson sits at the sharp end of that genre. Replete with the sound of the acoustic troubadour, Kiss In The Dark throws in just the right amount of guitar motifs and driving beats to allow him to have one foot in that camp and the other in a more mainstream place.

He has the potential to be both cultish and commercial, depending on which way he chooses to lean. If he gets it right, he could be accepted in both places. Time will tell, but I have a good feeling about him.
