Mentioned in Dispatches: Hyacinth – Kreajours

There was a point as the late eighties slipped into the early nineties when the intensity of the shoegaze scene was evolving into a more chart-friendly, mainstream indie sound, when more underground forces would emerge into the light, eventually powering Brit-pop onto its ghastly end game. Hyacinth sounds a lot like a song from those times.

But everything is cyclical, and there is a genuine post-rock revival going on at the moment, so it is better to think of Kreajours as ahead of the curve rather than fuelled by past sonic glories. It is more exciting to plot a course for where they are going rather than worrying about where they have been.
