All genres have to evolve. It’s all about moving with the times or getting left behind. Even a sound as well-defined and familiar as punk should be able to reinvent itself and stay relevant. So, whilst many of their contemporaries still think it’s enough to emulate the sound of ’78, Fractured is all about capturing the Spirit of ’76, if you know what I mean.
With this in mind, Huevos, their latest short, sharp and shockingly in-your-face salvo, is a punchy, rebellious, snarling, defiant bundle of rabble-rousing energy. It’s not about replicating the sound of those days; it’s about channelling the same energy. And that is what is going on here.
