Ahh, Antwerp! It’s long been the home of audacious and adventurous music. I remember fondly all of the strange spin-off bands and projects that orbited dEUS, and while Katakan doesn’t exactly fit into that avant-garde-jazz-rock-dance world, it is undoubtedly music made in the same spirit.
Alt-rock? Stoner-rock? Psychedelic-infused rock?” Perhaps we should call it rock and leave it at that; Heart of Stone is a coiled and confident slice of cavernous and trippy music, walls of sound that perfectly mix muscle and melody.
