Okay, I’m not big on covers, but there is so much to love to be found here. Firstly, it is John Lennon (okay, and Yoko), and his post-Beatles period is a truly fascinating place and perhaps the most creative of all of them until perhaps Paul got his act together and took flight with Wings, the band, the Beatles, could have been, as some wag once said in jest.

And the sentiment is obviously as poignant now as it has ever been. Then there is this specific rendition, a spacious, soulful, and scintillating number with Evie Balfe’s controlled and crystalline voice leading the way.

Like I say, what’s not to love?
