At a point where pop accessibility meets folk delicacy, ambient sensations ebb and flow over more structured beats, and acoustic rhythms carry gorgeously delicate vocal deliveries, you find Francesca Everly making music.

Her latest release, Flight Risk, does that most clever of things: It starts in the understated pop lowlands and proceeds to make its way up the sonic slopes towards more anthemic and lush musical highs. But even as it heads for and finally attains such lofty peaks, it never loses the gentle and seductive heart that beats at its core.

Gorgeous and graceful stuff, indeed.
