I was going to say that Nerida is the epitome of intelligent rock music, but there is a lot more going on than even that suggests. Just listen to their latest EP, Byron Bay, and you will see what I mean.
Yes, their music has rock at its core, big guitars and driving beats, but it also has room to take in soulful interludes, lush harmonies, indie infectiousness and pop-aware addictiveness. It is both technical in its construction and instantly accessible to the listener.
Rock music that is both big and clever. How cool is that? I’ll tell you…very cool.
