All music is cyclical; that cycle is about thirty years. So, after some time of having to live through the influence of 80s synth music (for the second time!) now at least the effect of the nineties is starting to be felt, something you can see in bands like Call To The Void.

Blow, their latest single, is woven from some great threads, grungy energy, classic rock-noir reminiscent of The Cult’s post-goth era, foot on the monitor and a perfect sonic storm of classic rock grooves and alternative rock moves. It’s like the nineties being sonically reinvented …though hopefully, we get to do it without Britpop and lad culture…that would be nice.
