If you take the poise and pull of pop, the swagger and cooler-than-thou vibe of indie and the blend of muscle and melody, groove and grit that you find in the best rock music, I’m not saying that you will end up with a song as great as Bird of Prey, but you will certainly have all the right components to hand.
But of course, in the “ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it” school of musical acumen, it is the finished sonic architecture itself, not the individual elements, that hits you, and Grace Angelique has a way of writing songs that will knock your socks off.
