The pandemic lockdowns gave us all pause for thought and those thoughts touched on everything from job security to concerns for our own mental well being and from the fact that we as a species are social animals to the ephemeral nature of existence itself. And to this last point, A Picture of a Picture concerns itself.
This first new musical offering by Billie Zizi since 2016 is a dreamscape slice of indie-folk, a song that blends ethereal pedal steel guitars with lilting acoustic spirals and which searches the memory for recollections of past love when all you can recall is the broken fragments of relationships that weren’t meant to be.
Heavenly, heartfelt, honest and totally human.
