I’ll be the first to admit that this is an unconventional way to rate a band, but I would say that note for note, Grasslands is good value for money. I say this because I have seen him play numerous times, and each performance is different. You might get stripped-back alt-folk musical missives at one end of the spectrum and, at the other, full-blown guitar and synthesizer battles where often the man himself seems to be struggling to keep everything bent to his musical will.
