Following a great bunch of reviews & a host of radio plays for previous single She’s Got You Now, Hull’s authentic indie outfit Poets Corner are back with their upbeat, yet melancholic, new single So Keen – a track about the range of feelings felt through unrequited love.

Released via Hull’s renowned record label / youth centre Warren RecordsSo Keen was produced by in-house producer Adam Pattrick with assistance from local music talent Daniel Murphy. This energetic track is sung from the loved person’s perspective & portrays the guilt they feel about the person in love with them, along with the discomfort that comes from the difficult conversations that arise. The track also portrays the anger that comes from untruthful words and failed attempts to be together.

The band states: “This single is the first release we’ve put out for a long time, as we’ve been sonically moving in a different direction to our previous releases, but it’s exciting to get some new music out there & see the audience’s response!”

Influenced by bands like Fontaines D.C, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, IDLES & The Smiths, four-piece Poets Corner are Cayden Oram (vocals/guitar), Oliver Lindle (vocals/keys), Oakley Gorman (backing vocals / Guitar) & George Elderkin (drums). Motivated to make fresh & exciting new music they could play live, these unlikely strangers were brought together by their college tutor & soon Poets Corner became a reality, interacting with audiences across East Yorkshire.
