This latest single from Georg Bendemann is a testament to the fact that music doesn’t have to be overly complex to get your message across. It often pays to say what you want to say in the most straightforward language and set to the most concise sounds.
Obviously, for many, the joy of composition lies in the complexities and ornateness of creation, but “Galatians” proves that taking a more straightforward path is equally valid.
And so, referencing St. Paul’s letters to the early Christian fathers of those Black Sea settlements, Georg is found stating simply and in a celebratory fashion the importance of the New Testament in his own life. A strummed ukulele (great to see it back in his music) and words that simply express his joy of the teachings, and as usual, his short and perfectly to-the-point lyrical delivery.
Life, why complicate it?
