‘Do Do Do’ is music made between a place of sort of electro-ecstatic hippie wonderment and dance floor delirium; it is both liberating and slightly worrying. Liberating because it makes you realize that you don’t have to stick to the rules, even in the often very conformist world of Electronic Dance Music. Worrying because, lyrically, it makes you wonder what Mr. Chacon has been taking. But it sounds like he is having a lot of fun.

But I would rather be faced with music this high on life, this offbeat and experimental, than more of the same old identikit landfill indie or pop wannabes still trying to be Amy Winehouse (who in turn wanted to be Dusty Springfield, who in turn… well, you know)

These happy vibes come courtesy of liquid sonics and shuffling beats, cosmic vibes and skittering rhythms, and put me in mind of the sort of music that perhaps Donovan Leitch might be making if he were starting today, or something Tiny Tim might have created out of old show tunes and early synthesizers, had they been available to him.

Either way, it makes an odd, refreshing change. And I mean that in the very best of ways. Odd is good, odd is unexpected, odd is original, left-field, and out of its box. Odd is non-conformist and anti-comfort zones. Who couldn’t benefit from some of that in their life?
