Hi, Hitha! Congratulations on your new single, “Neverland”! What inspired you to write the song?

I wrote “Neverland” after realizing that I was scared to reach the pivotal age of 18, more specifically, of becoming an adult. This song is my internal monologue of everything I feared about adulthood. All my life, I was very excited to become an ‘independent grownup’. That freedom was something I chased throughout my childhood and teen years. However, when I was about to achieve that freedom, I understood that with it came a ton of societal expectations and rules that I was not ready for.

Can you talk about the message or theme you hope listeners take away from “Neverland”?

“Neverland” has a message for everyone. This song reminds people that through different points in our lives, we will be faced with distressing and seemingly unconquerable circumstances. However, if we continue to take it one step at a time and allow ourselves to grow, we will come out better than ever. I hope teenagers in a similar place understand that even if everyone around them expects them to act a certain way, they can always continue down a path that they choose. Whether they are 17 or 18, personal growth overall is what truly matters.

How does the message in “Neverland” relate to the current state of the world?

The message within the lyrics of “Neverland” will always be relevant in our world because hardships are a sad but constant truth to all of us, no matter what time zone or location we live in.

How does “Neverland” fit into the overall theme or concept of your upcoming album?

I hope to bring happiness to people through my upcoming album. Whether it is to listen to the instruments or to absorb the lyrics, I want listeners to go through an experience and come out better on the other side. “Neverland” will certainly achieve that!

Are there any plans for a tour or live performances in support of “Neverland”?

Not as of now, but I certainly hope sometime soon!

What are you most excited for fans to hear in “Neverland” and why?

To date, “Neverland” is my most personal and meaningful song that came directly from my heart. I am excited to connect with my fans on a deeper level through this song and have them get to know me better.
